Beauriful, I just want u to know....

that u are my favorite girl....

I have been wearing my hair natural for the past One month. As in nothing attached to it, just me, my hair and rollers for the first time in my adult life. I must say I look lovely. But the thing is I don’t think I look any lovelier than I looked before when my hair looked like Beyonce’s. No matter how I wear my hair, I believe I am the FINEST chick in the room. My friends call me DA diva and some of my thin classically pretty friends always wonder how come I am so confident. I just tell them that no matter what, I will always think I am DA shit. Lol. Anyways the point of my post is to tell ALL of you that you are truly beautiful. Whether you are a India Arie look alike or Beyonce look alike….that you are beautiful just as you are; And that Men and other Women would believe you if you act accordingly.

Blogville is so incredibly depressing nowadays. Every blog I open is just disappointing. Is either someone is screaming weave is the beautiful thing to do and yellow skinned women are DA shit. Or another one is yelling anyone who doesn’t think Dark skin women are more beautiful hates being black. Or that not wearing your hair naturally is internalized racism.

And while it’s important to have a place to rant and rave about whatever catches your fancy. It’s also important to know that you, each and every one of you, is a role model and that we should exhibit behavior that will not make us seem ignorant.

The fact that I am gorgeous or that I think I am gorgeous does not take from Oluchi’s gorgeousness either.

Maturity and true humanity is seeing that all of us, the incredible diversity in being black, is what makes us special. Beauty is beauty. I think it’s important to be respectful of each other and to see beauty in everyone. And if we keep this up, I may have to run away from here and that would be devastating because I LOVE BLOGVILLE.

As usual
XOXO
Temite....

  6. I'm glad u r a very confident with the way you are. A lot of people need to jump on that bandwagon and love themselves.

I don't think blogsville is depressing because people are airing their opinions (right or wrong) on issues that are important to them. That's what makes it interesting. I'd rather read and debate about that, than read someone's bullshit sex story.

Everyone has something that they are passionate about. We should all be free to express our views on blogsville, and not have to worry about if we are bringing down the morale of the whole community. That's why there's the X button on the top far right corner of the webpage.

  9. don't run o! we will repent for our blogging sins!

lol@when my hair looked like Beyonce’s...that reminded me of when I watched her advert with L'oreal for the first time. I couldn't understand why they will show beyonce for a hair product when we all know it is a weave.

  11. My theory: If you pretend you are what you are not you will look silly trying. I don't do Beyonce, Tyra Banks or Kelis well so I just do me. "Me" might not be trendy or even classically beautiful but I only look good when I do me (I know from the compliments). That's how I know beauty comes from within.

  17. Very wise words, my sista. Everyone has a right to do as they wish. The rest of us must respect their choices and let it be. Too much wahala.

Nothing wrong with having an opinion, but just because blogville allows 'anonymity' doe snot mean that the opinions shared should be malicious, rude and obnoxious.

    Oh well.

  18. Well said.
Will try wearing my hair natural.

Blogville has a voice, so we all need to be careful what we say on here; we are role models.

  19. Great post! I say, do you. If the weaves is what makes you feel good, do it. I've been natural since December and only recently (last 3 months) felt confident enough to wear my short hair alone out.
No need to claim one style of hair better than another.
    Anyways, great post!!!

  20. i have been wearing my hair natural for the past 1 year..but am tempted sorely to relax it this weekend cuz my braids dont look nice anymore...they dont last as long as they used to

  21. I find it so interesting how many women feminity is so tied up in their hair... To me, hair is just protein growing out of one's scalp. End of story. The beautiful person is the person who believes they are beautiful regardless of what hair/clothes/makeup they are wearing...

Like you said, it's all about Confidence! :)

  22. Lol! U had me laughing! Enjoyed reading! When it comes to hair, do you!

  23. I think confidence has a lot to play....

It doesn't matter how expensive an hairstyle is, confidence is what will carry it off...

And basically if you don't love urself how do you intend to make others love you??

  24. Hi there!

This is sooo true!! I am encountering scores of ignorant comments being made at many forums...people are ranting and insulting those who don't validate their viewpoints. It is out of hand and blog hosts need to start deleting those comments from their forums so that those people will not return!

  25. Black is beautiful, yeah cliche, i know , But i gotta give a shout out to the cocoa buttered skinned princesses out there.

I love natural hair, some weaves just look amusing when hair tied back will do, and as per relaxing. Say the result of a lifetimes of that on a lady and let's just say the i never knew the sun could reflect so well.

Being confident about yourself is one thing, but nobody like a vain , notice me.

    But that's just moi

  26. 'Is either someone is screaming weave is the beautiful thing to do and yellow skinned women are DA shit. Or another one is yelling anyone who doesn’t think Dark skin women are more beautiful hates being black. Or that not wearing your hair naturally is internalized racism.' seriously, people think like this???? am amazed.

i hear my hair in dreads cos daz d only hairstyle my scalp can tolerate. i react to relaxers, weaves, & braids give me the most horrible headaches. i've cut my hair several times, but my mom always frowns at it, saying i look like a man! lol. so, it was either dreads or i die of misery.

  27. I agree with all those who have said what you feel inside is what you reflect. Even if your weave is 1000% yaki, or ur lace front weave is 500USD, if u feel like shit inside, u look like shit outside. :) U better stay on blogville, or I'll have to come find u ;)

  28. You're 100% correct my dear. Irrespective of what anybody thinks, you are as beautiful as you believe and it has nothing to do with the colour of your skin.

  29. It was in blogville I learnt that some people think not wearing your natural is such a bad thing. Personally I don't wear extensions but abeg if someone wants to do it that's their own business! Is it your head?I don't know for all these kind people sef!
I'm very happy with my curvy body o!Someone needs to tell some of the fatter ladies out there to stop hating on skinny girls. It looks very sad.

  31. I am not my hair..I am so dark and proud and my hair ain;t healthy so I might take it down a bit or attach them Chinese and European things on my hair but that don't take any colour off my skin..I feel u

  37. The truth is too much focus on what women look like on the outside, what about inside? Why don't women just focus on their inner beauty, because your inner beauty will reflect on the outiside, and that's the true definition of true beauty.

Another thing, there is a difference btw arrogance and confidence. A woman thinking I'm the flyest chick in a room with other beautiful girls, that's arrogance or pride to me. Confidence to me is just when a woman allows her inner beauty to shine through, carries herself with grace, and elegance, and so secure in who she is. Michelle Obama is an example of confidence.

  38. Natural hair and weaves are both fine. We only live once. Whatever suits one.
